Florida Toothache Grass

Ctenium floridanum (Florida Toothache Grass). Poaceae (Grass Family). Morningside Nature Center, Gainesville, Florida. 2014.

I think this grass is so pretty and interesting. Initially, the seed spikelets grow straight, looking like a long, thin comb. And then when they dry, they twist, shooting their seeds all over. This is an endangered grass that is endemic to Florida.
