Rufous Bellied Thrush
PASSERIFORMES. TURDIDAE. Turdus rufiventris. Rufous-bellied Thrush. Campus Botanical Garden, FAUBA, Buenos Aires, Argentina. 2012.
These thrushes are very common in Argentina and Uruguay and they sing all day and early in the morning. They're a little larger than the American Robin, but behave very similarly, hopping around looking for bugs. The weather was quite hot and this bird was trying to cool down in a wet planter. I saw a lot of thrushes with their feathers fluffed and beaks open because they were so hot.
